{ Ashley is a senior!!! }

I had so much fun with Ashley and her Mom last night for Ashley’s senior pictures. Ashley won my Senior rep contest. She really put the word out! But, I have to say, I had the best, most gorgeous, sweetest reps ever! I don’t know how I will outdo this group next year.:)
Here are just a few of  the images we captured last night. Ashley does NOT take a bad picture… I promise!!! We had a rather mildly eventful evening, but I think the results were totally worth it.;)Don’t you?

{ welcome home daddy }

Today was a BIG day for a new friend! Not only did Nellie welcome home her hubby from a deployment overseas, she should also be welcoming baby Deacon.:DThat should be one proud, happy, and probably loud household tonight!

I met Nellie through emails a few months ago with my work for OpLove. She was looking for someone to capture the arrival of her husband, but with 2 toddlers and a new baby on the way, she couldn’t do it all herself. That is where I came in. We conversed back and forth numerous times. She decided to bring the boys to me for a session on the farm. (You can see those images HERE.) I immediately fell in love with the little fellas.
When I mentioned that I would like to do a “different” type of maternity shoot, Nellie volunteered. (You can see those images HERE.) I was and still am over the moon with the images we captured that day! I have never seen a more beautiful pregnant woman. Wow! Wouldn’t we all like to look like that?!?

Today was the HOMECOMING!!! I have never witnessed this before. Oh my goodness! It was AWESOME! You could really feel the excitement on the pier. All of these people surrounding you that haven’t seen their loved ones in 6 months. It was pretty emotional. You can’t help but to get caught up in it! (One sailor even asked his girlfriend to marry him as soon as he stepped off the ship.) Nellie’s boys were ecstatic to see Daddy as you can see by the pics below. Nellie was pretty happy, too.;)

On top of  all that, Nellie left a note on my facebook “wall” letting me know that she was having contractions 3 minutes apart. woohoo! I had a feeling that it was going to be today. Last Wednesday, she started having contractions. (Not to be confused with braxton hicks. After all, this is a Mommy to 2. She knows what is what.) We were worried that little Deacon was not going to wait for Daddy. Well, Sunday, the contractions stopped. But, we should have a baby by now or pretty close to it. yay! I look forward to his newborn pics soon!

Christine - July 7, 2010 - 10:42 pm

I am sitting here in tears. Amazing. The joy and light on my dear friend’s face speaks volumes. I know these months of separation have been very, very tough for their entire family. Nellie has handled everything with such grace – she is my hero! Little T-man looks sooo happy to finally see his daddy again! Fantastic job!!!<3

Debbie Baggett(Turner,Eli & Deacon,s Jersey grandma) - July 8, 2010 - 11:54 am

As any one of my family members will tell you “I am not” one to respond to internet blogs — but today I find myself so overwhelmed with emotion. Nellie forwarded me this site to view all the pictures you have taken of my family — they are BEAUTIFUL!! Seeing the pictures of John’s homecoming with his boys and Nellie is just…. I can’t seem to find the words. The shots you captured will be treasured for what I hope are years to come. It has been one eventful 24 hours.
Thank you.

Love these! This is an incredible tribute to the family. I wish all our servicemen and women could have professional shots of their homecoming. They deserve it. Well done!

natasha - April 18, 2011 - 7:31 pm

I love these, too!! It’s so very rewarding being an OpLove photographer!

Maura Trice - April 21, 2011 - 9:25 pm

Wow! Such an incredible moment to capture! (: I wish I had known about OpLove before my husband deployed and came home! We don’t have very good home coming pictures to show, but to the both of us the memory of that first hug and first kiss are just as cherished. God bless all of our military families! (:

The wilson family band

Tonight, I had the pleasure of working with The Wilson Family Band  again. They are absolutely the best bluegrass group that I have had the pleasure of hearing. On one of the shots, I asked them to just play. Well, they did and I sat there for a couple of minutes in awe before I pulled myself back and remembered that I was supposed to be taking pics. lol! Yes, they are that great! Not only are they extremely talented, but they are the most down-to-Earth people that you would ever hope to meet.

Robert, Melissa, Clint, Katie, and Bruce, I hope you enjoy your sneak peek. It was a pleasure working with y’all and I look forward to next time.:)

Yep, my favorite is the last picture. That is at the Burnt Fort Church, good place for pictures,,,,,,,,,

{ mine on monday }

While I was working on wedding pictures this morning, I looked over at Jake. He was sitting on the dining room table. (This is his new favorite place.) He looked so beautiful that I ran and grabbed my camera. I love his full, kissable lips. I love his thick, curly hair. I love his gorgeous blue eyes. I love his sweet laugh. I LOVE JAKE!

haha! In the next image, Jake is giving me the sign for “all done.” Photo shoot is over.

If you knew him, you would love him, too.;)

Last night’s session was rescheduled from Thursday night due to all this rain we have had lately. The rain doesn’t necessarily scare me, but the lightning sure does.;)Anyway, Miranda called me with an update of the weather and I headed over to Amelia Island Plantation. That place is beautiful!
I know this is a rather large “sneak peek,” but I do believe that this is my newest favorite session. Ok, I know that I say that all the time, but goodness, I LOVE these images. I hope you like them as much as me!

Kayse - July 3, 2010 - 2:01 pm
