{ Photography } southern style

I get emails quite frequently regarding how to shoot, how to edit, different styles, etc. I try to answer them in the best way that I can. Since I am a visual learner, I’m often left wondering if my reader understands what I am trying to explain. So, I have been playing with the though of teaching classes/workshops.  After I posted my thoughts, the response has been overwhelming. Wow! It’s already truly amazing to me to have so many follow my work, but then to know that you would love to and are excited to learn from me is extraordinary. I have been playing with the details in my mind for the last few days. I’m sure I’ll learn what works best by trial and error. :)

First up, a Beginning Photography class on August 27, here in Folkston. You do not have to be a practicing photographer for this. You simply need to have the desire to learn how to use your DSLR. Are you on AUTO mode and desire to get off of it? Do you want to learn how to change your settings so that you can capture your kids in action? These are things that I can teach you. It will still require practice from you, but I can get you going! This class will take place on Saturday, August 27 from 9am-5pm. It may last a little longer. It depends on how much you want to keep shooting.:)First, we will go over the basics on your camera. Then, I will line up a couple of different sessions for us to shoot. You will be able to shoot along with me and see how I set up each shot and how I interact with the models/families, etc.   as I feel that this part is just as important as the actual picture taking part.;)The cost will be $200. A non-refundable retainer fee of $100 is due to book your spot. The class will be limited to 8 participants.

I’m also excited to share that I am working on several out-of-town workshops. woohoo! The cost of these will be $350 for a one-day workshop. Since these will be geared for the practicing photographer, they will include 3 sessions as well as an editing portion. A minimum of 6 participants will be required. If you are interested in hosting one of these, just let me know!

God has blessed me with a talent and turned it into a business. I’m excited to start in this portion of it!

And because no post should be without a picture… please enjoy another shot of the super-sweet, beautiful Billie!
