When I saw this week’s challenge, I knew EXACTLY the picture to enter.
Meet Paco! He was just a tiny pup when I shot his family’s session. I could not resist putting a tea cup in a teacup. heehee!

About Southern Expressions Photography
Hi! Welcome to my blog. This is where you will find the fun stuff. Sneak peeks, specials, and product introduction will be featured here. Check back often, as you never know when something BIG will happen;-)
I met Nellie and her boys through OpLove. (More on that arrangement at a later date.) Earlier this month, you got to meet her adorable boys for a field trip down on the farm. Today was Mommy’s turn to pose for the camera.
I posted on my facebook page last week that I wanted to do a cool maternity shoot. I am soooo glad that Nellie mentioned that she was available this week. She has the PERFECT pregnant belly. WOW! Doesn’t every Mom wish they could look this good?!?
Little Miss G was such a treat this morning. Everything was a new discovery. It was the first time for shells, the beach, and sand between her toes. She was a pure delight to photograph as she explored her surroundings. Yes, Mom, you were very blessed to have such a sweet-natured child first. I hope you enjoy your sneak peek, which isn’t very small because they all turned out so well that it was hard to pick just a couple.
I had soooo much fun taking these pictures. I think I had almost as much fun editing them. I tried out something new for me. I applied textures, by the wonderful Jessica Drossin, to some of the images. I have admired the textured images of other photographers for a while now, but never really had an image that just made me crazy to try it myself. Well, these adorable fairies were just what I needed to give it a go. I’m glad I did. I’m in love with the technique now.

Well, this image was one of my very first newborn pics ever, but it’s still one of my favorites. Mom is a good friend of mine. So, she just let me borrow him for a couple of hours. (I am a mom of 5 myself. He was in good hands:) I remember looking down at him and thinking… ok, what am I going to do?!? Right about then is when he decided to give me this BIG grin. Over a year later and he is still just as cute!

I get questions all the time about wardrobe. What should I wear?, What should my husband wear?, etc. This week, the extremely talented photographer, Kelsey Anderson, is a guest blogger on another photography website, MCP actions. She posted a GREAT tutorial for family outfits. So, go check out this wonderful visual guide.
No post without a pic! Here is my gorgeous niece, Jade, in an example of my senior sessions.
Also, this dress is available to be used as a prop for a senior session.

Yesterday, I, along with Kayse, had the pleasure of photographing the Bauder wedding. It was absolutely beautiful. Our bride, Lene’, was gorgeous and her handsome hubby, Derrick, was so proud. You could see the love between these two.
The reception was held at a beautiful old Shaker home place. All I can say is WOW!!! It was a stunning backdrop for family and friends to gather, eat, dance, and celebrate the beginning to a happily ever after. Our princess married her prince. Their love goes “to infinity and beyond.”
