I have been blessed to have met today’s featured family through my sweet friend, Nellie. Nellie and Cicely are Navy wives and great friends. They are also two of the sweetest women that I have ever met. They also happen to have beautiful families which I have had the pleasure to photograph numerous times. I adore all of my “clients,” but it’s even better when they become great friends! Only problem with Navy families, you get attached and they have to move. Nellie is already in Virginia and Cicely will be leaving this summer. Hmmm, guess that means that I will need to fly on up there for a visit!
Back to today’s blog-
Cicely wasn’t sure that she wanted a maternity session. I’m glad that she changed her mind. We met at a little park in Jacksonville and managed to capture my favorite maternity image of all time! It will be a HUGE canvas in my studio. As you can see below, the session was almost magical.
This past Monday I got to meet the newest member of the family… sweet, little Claire. Oh my goodness! What a doll to join gorgeous, big sister, Grace! I spent a few sweaty hours posing and cuddling Claire and playing with Grace. I believe the resulting images are some of my best. The first one of Mike and Claire… yea, that one will be a huge one in my studio, too! With 3 beautiful princesses, I think Mike is a very blessed man.

This pretty, little princess belongs to my BFF’s cousin. To say that we were anxiously awaiting her arrival would be an understatement. We had a lot of fun and the last image posted is my absolute favorite shot of mama/baby that I have ever captured. pure love.

Wow has Miss Smiley grown!! You can check out this little doll’s newborn session here. She is still just as sweet as ever!!! I love spending time with Mom, too. She is one of the sweetest and always has the cutest ideas.

I have wanted to do this shoot for almost a year now. Luckily for me, my BFF (Heather) has a beautiful daughter, Jaycee, who was also game. I bought the wool for the cloak while out Christmas shopping and the boots around that time, too. I bought the dress about a year ago for a concept shoot that didn’t pan out, but we will get to that one this year.
I was supposed to have a family session on the beach yesterday. It was just too windy and chilly for little ones. While driving home, I gave Heather a call and we hit the woods. I hope that we were really able to convey the “feeling” of the idea. Let me know what you think. Oh, and happy pinning as long as you link back to me!

This next little guy was such a good sleeper! Being born at just 35 weeks, he spent a couple of weeks in NICU. He was almost a month old by the time he made his visit with me. This session was especially fun since I have known his Mama for a LONG time. I totally forgot to tell her my earliest memory of her. So, here is a public embarrassment story, Lindsey. A long time ago, before nursing school and marriage, I worked as a waitress at our local restaurant, the Okefenokee. (yes, we are THAT small town:) Anyway, Lindsey used to come in with her parents. She couldn’t have been more than 5 or 6 and on a busy Friday night, she was turning cartwheels down the aisle. lol! To say that she was a mess would be an understatement. But, wow, Lindsey, you have grown up to be an incredibly beautiful, intelligent, successful young woman! Congratulations on your gorgeous baby boy!!

I had the pleasure of meeting this sweet family last year for a maternity session. Little Mr. S stole the show with his GORGEOUS blue eyes, long lashes, and sweet smile. His beautiful, curly hair reminded me of my Jake.

Once little Miss S made her appearance, I (with Taylin’s help) loaded my van and headed to their family home. She was already 4 weeks old. It’s a bit more difficult to get the sleepy, curly poses that come so naturally with younger newborns, but not totally impossible. As you can see below, she is just beautiful, too. Shelby, you have a gorgeous family!

Oh, this next image just makes my heart flutter. Love.

I have been more than blessed with another wonderful year in business. Thank you for all of your support, whether it be emails, interactions on my Facebook page, booking and trusting me to capture your memories, or referrals, you have made this past year my best yet!! There are dozens of wonderful photographers to choose from and I’m honored that you choose me. I still get butterflies when I see you repost my images. I still become speechless when I see you “brag on me” to others. You can’t possibly know how much you touch me. This year has seen a tremendous amount of growth. I can only image what 2012 holds for me.

It is time once again for my annual “best of” contest. I made a folder of my favorites and there were 97 images in it! Holy cow!! I had to call in reinforcements to bring the number down. I just couldn’t do it alone. Below you will see the Top 20. Every single session has been dear to me, but I couldn’t include them all.

I wanted to post a few more images before the end of the year. Some you’ve seen, some you may have missed. I was great about blogging the first half of the year and terrible with the second half. I will do better in 2012. This is a rather long post, but full of beautiful people. Enjoy!
