{ Bauder Wedding }

Sunday, June 13th, 2010

Yesterday, I, along with Kayse, had the pleasure of photographing the Bauder wedding. It was absolutely beautiful. Our bride, Lene’, was gorgeous and her handsome hubby, Derrick, was so proud. You could see the love between these two.
The reception was held at a beautiful old Shaker home place. All I can say is WOW!!! It was a stunning backdrop for family and friends to gather, eat, dance, and celebrate the beginning to a happily ever after. Our princess married her prince. Their love goes “to infinity and beyond.”

{ laughter }

Wednesday, June 9th, 2010

I laughed during this evening’s session more than I have ever laughed during a session before. I laughed until my sides were hurting. So, I believe that I titled this post very appropriately. I have tons of “candids,” as Charles would say. They just may pop up here and there. ;)
Just a bit of background info on this couple… their’s was the very first wedding I ever photographed. It took a bit of coaxing on her part, but, thankfully, Chrissy had more confidence in me than I did in myself! I can’t believe it’s already been two years.
Thanks for a great time and hope you enjoy your sneak peek!

“A perfect summer day to a little boy means, a scrape on the knee, mud on his face and collecting bugs in the garden.”

Today’s session has been planned since last Christmas and, maybe, it should have been shot last winter, too. ;) It was more than a little warm today, but it didn’t get sweltering just yet. Little Mr. G kept us moving and there was a slight breeze. So, we didn’t completely melt. GeeMa didn’t think Mr. G would like the camera too much. Boy, was she wrong. Just look at this little fella cheese it up. :D Thank you for taking me to such a beautiful place! I hope you enjoy the sneak peek. There are many more to come.

This next one was a “requested” shot. Ms. Susan, did we do it right? :)

“Other things may change us, but we start and end with family”

Monday, May 31st, 2010

I met up with Anna’s lovely family at the beach last night. All day long, I was worried that the weather was not going to cooperate for us. Because it was raining off and on here, I kept checking the radar. It was starting to rain again when I left my house. The closer I got to the beach, the clearer the sky. :)
Once I made it to the beach house, I looked back over my shoulder. I didn’t know if we were going to have time before the rain reached us. Anna’s brother cracked me up as soon as I walked in the house. He had the radar pulled up on his cell phone. He held it out to me and said, “do you really think we can make it?” I told him that I thought we could if we hurried. So, we did. I think we did pretty well, too. The children were so very well behaved. We took lots of shots and the rain never showed up. yay! Here is your sneak peek, Anna!

{ What a Beautiful Day }

“Love is patient. Love is kind. It does not envy. It does not boast. It is not proud. It is not rude. It is not self-seeking. It is not easily angered. It keeps no record of wrong doing. It does not delight in evil, but rejoices in the truth. It always protects, trusts, hopes, perseveres.” –1 Corinthians 13

 As I looked out at the blue sky, all I could think of was the song, What a Beautiful Day, by Chris Cagle. It is an upbeat love song about meeting THE ONE  and counting the day until you get married and beyond. Well, on Saturday, May 29, 2010, Patrick and Crystal did just that.

Back in March, I had the pleasure of capturing this young love during their engagement session. They were so sweet and  just radiated with affection, kindness, and love for one another. It was refreshing to witness.

I was honored to be asked to be a part of their wedding in such a special way. I am a cousin of the groom. My wedding partner and, more importantly, friend, Kayse, is a cousin to the bride. So, this was her gig. :) lol! I was the helper. Here are just a few of the wonderful images I was able to capture. As I edit the whole set, I’m sure I will be adding to my facebook page. Be sure to keep a lookout. With a wedding party this genetically gifted, you can’t help but to share. ;)

I am very fortunate to live within driving distance of this GORGEOUS beach. I am even more fortunate to have a wonderful friend in need of family pictures that knows how to get to this beach. ;) It’s no secret that Jenna and Bobby are one of our favorite families. We always have fun when we get together. Last night was no exception. Just scroll down to see for yourself.

One of our sillier moments :D

{ Allen family }

“Our family is a circle of strength and love…
With every birth and every union the circle grows…
Every joy shared adds more love…
Every crisis faced together
makes the circle grow stronger. ”

The second part of my evening was spent with the Allen family and what fun we had! Ants and yellow flies were the obstacles we had to brave on the farm. There were nothing but smiles and laughs through it all. Here is a small preview of the fun :D

Last night, I had the honor of photographing the Allen and Taylor families. Wonderful, beautiful people mixed with the glorious evening light and rich, green grass made for an amazing session. The more photographs I take, the more difficult it is to narrow down to just a few for the sneak peeks. So, here ya go. Hope you enjoy the first set! :)

I really thought yesterday’s 2nd session was going to be rained out or soggy at best. When I talked to Rachel in the afternoon, it was still raining, but the sun was beginning to shine. Since it was a big family shoot and members had re-arranged their work schedules to participate, we decided to go for it anyway. The timing turned out to be perfect. Here are a few of my favorites. :)

{ In time of test, family is best. }

This morning I had a session with Miss Abby and her Mom’s family. Miss Abby’s image won Best of 2009. With it, she won two photo sessions, one to keep and one to giveaway. Last weekend was a HUGE family shoot with her Dad’s family. Today was Mom’s family’s turn with me. I have known this family for a very long time. Through the years, they have become dear to my heart. If you need something, just ask. They are always ready, willing, and able. Here is just a few of the wonderful images we captured today and I already have a favorite. Can you guess which one???
