My Saturday morning was spent chasing two little fellas other than my own.
I had a session with the G family who drove all the way from Jax to spend some time on the farm. They had a blast and I got my workout on by playing tag, hide & seek, and peek-a-boo. While the smiles weren’t there in the beginning, they sure were big by the end! Here is a little peek at our morning.

Saturday, July 31st, 2010{ VAN }
Wednesday, July 28th, 2010I met up with the B family last night on the beautiful driftwood beach. It was a gorgeous evening with the most wonderful weather. This family is one of the sweetest I have ever met. It must run in the family because Mom is a cousin of the bride in my last wedding and she was a total sweetie, too. If you follow my blog, you will recognize little Van. He is a typical little fella in that he never. slows. down. Lol! But, he is such a cutie and smart, too. Hope you enjoy the extended sneak peeks lately because here is another one.
{ Watching them grow }
Thursday, July 22nd, 2010I know that this sneak peek is waaaaay late since I normally post the same day or the next, at the latest. I was on vacation at my Mother’s in Tn when I met up with Nikki and her beautiful family. They drove two hours to work with me again. I think we are gonna make it a yearly thing. That will be so exciting for me to watch the kids grow through the years. We chose another historical spot. I think it’s a cool learning experience for everyone.
This particular day, the park had a re-enactment of the Civil War- the Union side of view. Pretty interesting even without me locking my keys in my vehicle. Thankfully, the local Sheriff’s office helped me out!
Here is your (late) sneak peek, Nikki! Hope you enjoy. I look forward to next year!
On a more serious business note, I have become overwhelmed with my business and my family. I am making changes, hopefully for the better. It used to take me 1 to 1.5 weeks to edit a session, sometimes less, and have the slideshow ready. Since having two large weddings back-to-back, I have been unable to catch up. I expected too much out of myself. I still gave to my family, but I wasn’t giving to me. I can’t go on like this. My sessions are now taking 2-3 weeks to complete. I understand that is still considered quickly by most of you, but it isn’t to me. I like to clean my slate. I will honor all of my current commitments, but will drastically cut down on the number of bookings I accept. Also, no more weddings for me. I know I shouldn’t say NO. One may come along that I just can’t refuse, but, for now, I am saying that I can direct you to some wonderful photogs that will be more than happy to help you out.
I hope that you all understand. Thank you for your kindness, compliments, and encouragement. You all have made my business the success that I consider it to be.

Sunday, July 11th, 2010{ Welcome baby Wyatt }
Saturday, July 10th, 2010 Yesterday, I went and visited with sweet, baby Wyatt, his adorable, big sister, and beautiful Mommy. Oh, he was so precious! The images we were after are very special. You see, this was another of my OpLove sessions. Daddy didn’t get to come home for the birth of his baby boy.
So, it was my job to get some photographs of his wonderful family to surprise him. I think he will love them.

{ welcome home daddy }
Wednesday, July 7th, 2010Today was a BIG day for a new friend! Not only did Nellie welcome home her hubby from a deployment overseas, she should also be welcoming baby Deacon.
That should be one proud, happy, and probably loud household tonight!
I met Nellie through emails a few months ago with my work for OpLove. She was looking for someone to capture the arrival of her husband, but with 2 toddlers and a new baby on the way, she couldn’t do it all herself. That is where I came in. We conversed back and forth numerous times. She decided to bring the boys to me for a session on the farm. (You can see those images HERE.) I immediately fell in love with the little fellas.
When I mentioned that I would like to do a “different” type of maternity shoot, Nellie volunteered. (You can see those images HERE.) I was and still am over the moon with the images we captured that day! I have never seen a more beautiful pregnant woman. Wow! Wouldn’t we all like to look like that?!?
Today was the HOMECOMING!!! I have never witnessed this before. Oh my goodness! It was AWESOME! You could really feel the excitement on the pier. All of these people surrounding you that haven’t seen their loved ones in 6 months. It was pretty emotional. You can’t help but to get caught up in it! (One sailor even asked his girlfriend to marry him as soon as he stepped off the ship.) Nellie’s boys were ecstatic to see Daddy as you can see by the pics below. Nellie was pretty happy, too.
On top of all that, Nellie left a note on my facebook “wall” letting me know that she was having contractions 3 minutes apart. woohoo! I had a feeling that it was going to be today. Last Wednesday, she started having contractions. (Not to be confused with braxton hicks. After all, this is a Mommy to 2. She knows what is what.) We were worried that little Deacon was not going to wait for Daddy. Well, Sunday, the contractions stopped. But, we should have a baby by now or pretty close to it. yay! I look forward to his newborn pics soon!

***Disclaimer #2 *** Please keep in mind that these images were taken in full sun. This is not the ideal light for my sessions. But, today was all about the love, not perfect pictures.
The wilson family band
Tuesday, July 6th, 2010Tonight, I had the pleasure of working with The Wilson Family Band again. They are absolutely the best bluegrass group that I have had the pleasure of hearing. On one of the shots, I asked them to just play. Well, they did and I sat there for a couple of minutes in awe before I pulled myself back and remembered that I was supposed to be taking pics. lol! Yes, they are that great! Not only are they extremely talented, but they are the most down-to-Earth people that you would ever hope to meet.
Robert, Melissa, Clint, Katie, and Bruce, I hope you enjoy your sneak peek. It was a pleasure working with y’all and I look forward to next time.

Saturday, July 3rd, 2010Last night’s session was rescheduled from Thursday night due to all this rain we have had lately. The rain doesn’t necessarily scare me, but the lightning sure does.
Anyway, Miranda called me with an update of the weather and I headed over to Amelia Island Plantation. That place is beautiful!
I know this is a rather large “sneak peek,” but I do believe that this is my newest favorite session. Ok, I know that I say that all the time, but goodness, I LOVE these images. I hope you like them as much as me!
